Enterprise Web Compliance Platform
Latest
release of enterprise accessibility,
privacy and site quality solution
features improved reporting
capabilities, new operational
security option and supports new
WCAG 2.0 standards
Nashua, N.H. — April 14, 2009 —
HiSoftware Inc. (www.hisoftware.com),
a leading provider of software,
services and managed operation
solutions that monitor and optimize
Web content governance, quality and
regulatory compliance, today
announced the release of HiSoftware
Compliance Sheriff™ version 3.2, an
enterprise management solution that
provides testing, monitoring and
reporting for standards-based
policies including accessibility,
privacy, site quality and now
operational security (OPSEC). The
latest release of Compliance Sheriff
includes new functionality to allow
users to more easily test and report
on compliance issues, a new optional
OPSEC module, and provides support
for the new Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0
guidelines from the W3C.
Kurt A. Mueffelmann, HiSoftware
president and CEO, said, “We are
pleased to release HiSoftware
Compliance Sheriff v3.2. The new
release features many new
enhancements but most importantly it
is WCAG 2.0 ready - allowing
organizations to not only test to
the recommended accessibility
standards of today but also
tomorrow. Compliance Sheriff allows
any organization to deliver a
high-quality user experience and
maintain best-of-breed websites
through an end-to-end solution that
monitors compliance across multiple
standards including accessibility,
privacy, and operational security,
and addresses overall website
quality.”
Key Features in HiSoftware
Compliance Sheriff v3.2:
- Supports new WCAG 2.0
standards, as well as WCAG 1.0.
- Enhanced security features.
- New “Results Revision
Wizard” for visual testing and
false positive assignment.
- Ability to schedule a one
time scan in addition to
on-demand scans.
- Import scans via Web-based
interface.
- Script Recorder has the
ability to statically capture
the pages of a transaction for
testing non-repeatable
transactions.
- Enhanced reporting
functionality
- User defined variables for
use with checkpoints can be used
to enhance the automation of
checkpoint rules.
- New Operational Security (OPSEC)
Module – optional module
provides an integrated solution
for compliance with Operational
Security guidelines and Risk
Assessment Practices.
The new WCAG 2.0 feature adds 64
checkpoints to further verify that
accessibility requirements are being
met in products that utilize
Compliance Sheriff scanning. An
exciting new component of this
release is the ability to check for
errors that occur in Cascading Style
Sheets (CSS). The rules engine has
also been updated to easily scan for
errors in Accessible Rich Internet
Applications (ARIA) markup. It is
now easier to specify what content
is being used for decorative or
purely presentation purposes in
content. The WCAG 2.0 feature also
easily enables the developer to get
more specific documentation around
how to fix errors that are
identified. For areas where manual
verification is required, Compliance
Sheriff Results Revision Wizard will
easily enable an audit trail to be
created that allows content
reviewers to pass or fail content
and provide justification for doing
so that can be included in reports.
The Operational Security (OPSEC)
option now available in v3.2 extends
the functionality of Compliance
Sheriff to allow military agencies
and government organizations to
monitor their sites for compliance
with Operational Security guidelines
and Risk Assessment Practices.
Features include the ability to:
validate for compliance with OPSEC
Standards and Guidelines; identify
problems or exposed security areas;
integrate Operational Security
testing into site Quality Assurance
and content delivery processes;
measure and manage risk and
compliance across the organization;
track site progress, and allocate
resources appropriately.
HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff
allows organizations to integrate a
comprehensive and automated solution
for managing Web Governance
standards as part of market-revenue
expansion, increased social
awareness and a stronger corporate
Risk Management strategy. It
provides organizations with a robust
and easy-to-use solution that
enables automated content compliance
and help lessen risk management
exposure by ensuring that Web sites
meet ever-changing compliance
standards. Comprehensive Dashboard
Reporting offers multiple reporting
levels for reviewing Web site
status, allowing management to
review high-level statuses while
developers view pass or fail details
for remediation. Unlike other
solutions, Compliance Sheriff allows
users to easily define and conduct
custom tests for an organization’s
unique policies without any costly
programming or consulting.
