Department of the
Navy (NAVAIR) Selects HiSoftware's
Accessibility and Content Quality
Management Solutions
AccVerify, AccRepair
and AccMonitor to be deployed across
eight NAVAIR bases for verification,
repair and monitoring of Web Based
content
Concord, NH February
28, 2003 - HiSoftware Company announced
today that the Department of the Navy-NAVAIR
(Naval Air Systems Command)-has selected
both HiSoftware Company's desktop and
back-end server software solutions for
evaluation, remediation and ongoing
monitoring of NAVAIR Web sites and Web
based applications for conformance to
Section 508 Accessibility Standards, and
organizational content quality
standards. The initial deployment will
provide the desktop and server solutions
across eight of NAVAIR's United States
bases throughout the United States.
In addition to "out-of-the-box" testing
and reporting for Accessibility,
Privacy, Metadata and Usability
standards, these solutions allow an
organization's experts and/or policy
managers to define content policies and
then provides a solution to validate
compliance with these policies. The
final result is a complete and concise
report on the total accessibility,
quality and policy compliance status of
content that has been tested.
HiSoftware's "Acc" product line includes
a combination of user-driven interactive
desktop solutions that allow developers
to test their content for conformance
with standards, and server-side
applications that provide managers with
automated and remote testing. A scalable
architecture provides a faster
deployment time and lower cost of
ownership for the solution set. Used
together these solutions enable
developers, testers and project teams to
verify Web site accessibility in
compliance with Section 508, as well as
Custom corporate-content quality
standards. The solutions provide NAVAIR
with a simple, cost-effective way to
manage accessibility and content quality
testing within their development
environments, at the same time providing
a centralized reporting system and audit
trail for Web content compliance status.
