Department of
State-IMPACT Center Extends Licensing
Agreement for HiSoftware Web
Management Solutions
Concord, NH
September 12, 2005 – HiSoftware
Company, the leader in enterprise Web
Accessibility and Content Quality
solutions, announced today that the
Department of State, IMPACT Center,
has extended its licensing agreement
for HiSoftware Company content quality
and accessibility solutions. Through
this agreement, HiSoftware Company’s
AccMonitor and AccVerify will be used
to evaluate and monitor intranet and
Internet Web sites for conformance
with Section 508 and Web content
quality standards. In addition to
“out-of-the-box” testing and reporting
for Accessibility, Privacy, Metadata
and Usability standards, AccMonitor
and AccVerify allows the Department of
State policy managers to define
content policies and to validate
compliance with these policies.
IMPACT, the
Department of State's Information
Resource Management Program for
Accessible Computer/Communication
Technology, serves as an advocate for
the accessibility of Department
technology, information, and programs
by all employees and customers -
including those Department employees
and customers with disabilities. This
contract extends a licensing agreement
that the Department of State
originally entered into in September
of 2004 through the end of the
September of 2006. Through this
agreement, HiSoftware Company will
provide an enterprise license of its
AccMonitor Compliance Server software
to the Department of State IMPACT
Center for use by its webmasters,
application developers, and Section
508 compliance experts. AccMonitor
Compliance Server is an automated
content quality and accessibility
testing solution for Web sites, or for
use in conjunction with intranet
servers or file servers.
AccMonitor
Compliance Server can be scheduled to
crawl Web sites daily, weekly, or
monthly. It also allows users to
log-on for “on demand” reports on the
accessibility status of their Web
pages. HiSoftware’s user-driven
interactive desktop solution,
AccVerify, will also be used to test
Department of State sites/applications
for compliance with Section 508
guidelines and other content quality
standards. For example, AccVerify will
be used to scan and analyze Web
content for broken links, and will
produce detailed reports to help
developers and quality assurance
professionals pinpoint content,
interaction, and usability defects.
