U.S. Geological
Survey- Extends Licensing Agreement
for HiSoftware Web Management
Solutions
Concord, NH July
8, 2005 – HiSoftware Company announced
today that the U.S. Geological Survey
(“USGS”)-has extended its licensing
agreement with HiSoftware Company for
enterprise-wide deployment of its
“Acc” product line. Through this
agreement, both HiSoftware Company’s
desktop and back-end server side
software solutions will be utilized
for evaluation, remediation and
ongoing monitoring of USGS Web sites
and Web based applications for
conformance to Section 508
Accessibility Standards, and
organizational content quality
standards. This extends a licensing
agreement that USGS originally entered
into with HiSoftware in August 2003
through the end of 2006.
Under the terms of
the agreement, HiSoftware Company will
provide its AccVerify DS2 2005,
AccRepair DS2 2005 and AccMonitor
Compliance Server 2005 software to
USGS for use by its webmasters,
application developers, and compliance
experts. In addition to
“out-of-the-box” testing and reporting
for Accessibility, Privacy, Metadata,
Site Structure and Usability
standards, HiSoftware solutions allow
an organization’s experts and/or
policy managers to define content
policies and then provides a solution
to validate compliance with these
policies. HiSoftware’s end-to-end
software solutions enable customers to
proactively manage online privacy.
HiSoftware solutions allow users to
monitor Web sites for data collection,
security and sharing practices, opt-in
and opt-out choices, broken links,
missing privacy policies, third party
linking, P3P and the use of tracking
technologies. The final result is a
complete and concise report on the
total accessibility, quality and
policy compliance status of content
that has been tested.
HiSoftware’s “Acc” product line
includes a combination of user-driven
interactive desktop solutions that
allow developers to test their content
for conformance with standards, and
server-side applications that provide
managers with automated and remote
testing. A scalable architecture
provides a faster deployment time and
lower cost of ownership for the
solution set. Used together these
solutions enable developers, testers
and project teams to verify Web site
accessibility in compliance with
Section 508, as well as Custom
corporate-content quality standards.
The solutions provide USGS with a
simple, cost-effective way to manage
accessibility and content quality
testing within their development
environments, at the same time
providing a centralized reporting
system and audit trail for Web content
compliance status.

applications is available from the
